Zhengzhou Renmin Park is a public park, west of Erqi Road, in the center of Zhengzhou, Henan, People's Republic of China. It was built in 1951 and opened on 1 August 1952.
Renmin Park was the first park in Zhengzhou and a vestige of Shang dynasty. Originally, the west period and south region of Renmin Park was founded to commemorate victim during Republican Period. The temples and monuments stand at the quiet corner of the park[1]
The area of Renmin Park is about 30.14 hectares, including 3.37 hectares water area and 25.41 hectares green space. The Hugong Temple faces the south gate, which is the landmark of the park. Behind the temple, there are several artificial lakes. The most western lake is Qingnian lake with two islands in the middle. On the eastern river bank is a boat route.
A lotus form fountain sits in the core of Renmin Park. Surrounding this fountain are considerable parterres, which are full of China roses and pines. In the east of fountain are Spring Garden and Autumn Garden, these two are connect by a long corridor, near this alure, there are some big greenhouses. In those greenhouses, the gardener plants flowers that can bloom during Spring and Autumn.[2]
Renmen Park is also a theme park with rides such as Roller rush, Raving Mouse, a Ferris wheel and a skating rink. Each year, the Festival Lantern exhibition is held in Renmin Park.
